Our brains are like flexible networks of neural pathways, constantly shaped by our experiences. This phenomenon is known as "neuroplasticity." Each thought and emotion we repeat strengthens a specific neural pathway, while new thoughts create the potential for change. It is through these incremental shifts, with enough repetition, that our brain's functioning can transform. This is how habits and unwanted behaviors often take root.
The power of tapping lies in its ability to reshape these neural pathways. By engaging in tapping, we send a soothing signal to the amygdala, which is responsible for processing emotions. Instead of holding onto negative emotions or the beliefs associated with them, tapping enables us to release them. It allows us to sever the emotional ties or "charge" connected to past negative experiences. Notably, EFT seems to impact not only the amygdala but also the hippocampus, the center of memory.
